Spotted a few more penguins whilst out and about today. Had a lovely later afternoon and evening with EB. The Informant was a good option, never worked out which one was the vampire though.

Not the first penguins I've seen but the first I've managed to snap.

Curry and beer! Not my usual Monday night meal, but I decided life's too short not to have what you fancy when you want...well occasionally anyway.

I'm so happy to be able to post this photo - Alice in her favourite place! Because Alice spent until 7pm this evening in bed at her parents' house with a nasty headache. At one time today I thought we might be spending an extra night in Nottingham.

This Sat Bains, an amazing chef who provided us each with personal tasting menus - 10 courses! One with no meat, two with no shell fish.... Thank you Nick and Jenny for a fabulous evening. x

What photo could I possibly blog for today, the saddest day in my 41 years? This choice might seem inappropriate but let me explain. After Sarah's funeral there were refreshments at the local pub. In the opposite corner of the bar from the funeral party I had to do a double-take at this sight. I'm sure Sarah would have loved telling the story of how a man was sitting in a bath of baked beans at her funeral.

Another day, another birthday cake for AJT!

I noticed this, the first flower on the Xmas cactus when I was having breakfast this morning. I love these flowers when they're new and perfect. The day seemed to have started well. Sadly it didn't finish well. On returning home from work I learned that Sarah, my best school friend, passed away last night. As a friend during my formative years Sarah made a big impact on me. In fact it's thanks to her that I discovered Psychology, and a career path that led me to Alice. In so many ways she is part of who I am today. RIP Sarah, I'm going to miss you more than you could ever have known. x

I found this Superlambanana above the Royal Court this morning. Not sure that it's an original though - I certainly don't remember it. But I'm happy to be wrong.

We spent a lovely evening catching up with Char and Jo. I can't believe that we haven't seen them socially since their wedding (I'm not counting seeing Char at Open Days).

This evening it was the launch of Homotopia at the Contemporary Urban Centre. The Laurie Lipton exhibition was fab.... bodes well for the festival this year.
