After a reasonably successful evening of shopping in town we went out to eat. This photo was taken from our table through a pretty dirty window. Anyone know where we were eating?

Wednesday, 29 April 2009

I saw two pieces of sculpture/ art today as I left the psychology department and went out and about to invigilate an exam.

Tuesday, 28 April 2009

A cup of rooibos before bed marks the end of a tiring day. Do you know whose is whose?

Two shrubs at their flowery peak today.

The beautiful english countryside on a spring day!

Saturday, 25 April 2009

We went over to Sheffield to see The Tempest at The Lyceum with Sarah. How cute is Harriet?!

Friday, 24 April 2009

This evening it was red wine tasting at Lucy Earle's, led by Anne McKinley, very informative it was too.

Thursday, 23 April 2009

It was Acoustic Night at The Gulshan again and Jad's brother gave another awesome performance.

Wednesday, 22 April 2009

We had a surprise visitor this afternoon!

Tuesday, 21 April 2009

The cherry tree has never really been well so last year we cut it right back to see if it would fight back. This tiny little bit of blossom is all it has mustered to date. If it doesn't shoot it'll be time to dig it up.

Monday, 20 April 2009

Came home via Liverpool One today.

Sunday, 19 April 2009

More socialising in the sun today. Over to Jen's for tea and cake for Dadge's birthday. Frankie was quite taken with Bod.

Saturday, 18 April 2009

And so to today's posts. We spent a lovely day  in the sun -  brunch with Sara and Vicki in the garden, then a quick run before a BBQ with the lovely Collier family.

Friday 17th April

Like Alice I was home too late to post yesterday. It was the hockey club annual dinner which this year was held at the club, with late bar. Don't our girls scrub up well?!

Thursday, 16 April 2009

Elizabeth and Chris visited with Oliver. We don't see them very often as they live in London but they were staying with family on the Wirral so came over to see us. Mr Pig was popular as ever!

Wednesday, 15 April 2009

At the Club again tonight, this time for a quiz. AJT not there because of a nasty headache :-(

Tuesday, 14 April 2009

Watching Chelsea - Liverpool at the Club. Lots of goals, but the wrong outcome (unless you're Esther Baker of course!).

Monday, 13 April 2009

It was a foggy walk along the beach to Sandsend with Alice, Jane, Rachel and Jill.

Sunday, 12 April 2009

Ridiculously although I took lots of photos of Whitby today they're on my 'big' camera and not so quickly downloadable. So... here I am this evening, full of roast dinner, trying to suss out Spotify.

Saturday, 11 April 2009

We patiently queued at the Magpie for our fish and chips, but it was well worth the wait. The slotties beckoned afterwards  - how exciting is it to hear 4 2p pieces come tumbling down!?!

Friday, 10 April 2009

Relaxed!

Thursday, 9 April 2009

Spent a very lazy day today. Ventured out for a mooch round Whitby, lunch at the Moon & Sixpence (the oyster place, but we didn't have oysters today) and bought these beautiful flowers to enjoy whilst sitting on the sofa.

Wednesday, 8 April 2009

In Whitby at last! This is the view from the living room window as the sun started to set. Aaaah, time to sit back and chill!!

Tuesday, 7 April 2009

We met up with my school friend Cath and her kids after work this evening. The new play area at Sefton Park proved popular (see Cath trying to get Amy out of the swing!) and Marantos was a perfect choice for tea.

Monday, 6 April 2009

This has been the focus of my attention all day (and sadly evening too) - a PhD thesis that I am examining.

Sunday, 5 April 2009

In my experience snails don't normally pop out of their shells and grin at you when you're poking about in the garden near them, but I swear this bold one did!

This afternoon it was another outing for Tilleywillisopoly. This time at Esther Baker's house, enjoyed  with lots (and lots!) of cake.

Saturday, 4 April 2009

We had a walk down to the new canal basin. No narrow boats unfortunately but it's going to be lovely down there.

Friday, 3 April 2009

Don't ask, I don't know! I just found her.

Thursday, 2 April 2009

Today's temptation! And I was weak to it.

Wednesday, 1 April 2009

As I was home from work first I get to blog this picture of the first fritillaria to flower in our garden, even though they are Alice's favourite.
